Opened in 2022, the brand new Taggart Parkes Family Clubhouse is BGC Ottawa’s newest location serving the Ottawa’s south end. This Clubhouse delivers life-changing programming in BGC Ottawa’s four key pillars: Education, Physical Activity & Healthy Lifestyle, Creative Arts, and Leadership & Social Skills. Situated in the Heatherington community, the new Clubhouse enables BGC Ottawa to reach roughly 5,000 youths and children in need, giving them the skills and tools to grow and thrive in uncertain times.
The facility hosts a double gymnasium, dance studio, multipurpose/learning centre, and two kitchens and was designed with COVID safety as a priority.
The fast-tracked project was funded in part by the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream of the federal government’s Investing in Canada Infrastructure plan, with additional support provided by the Government of Ontario as well as a number of generous private donations. ◼
