Kent Bugatsch

Senior Associate, Senior Technologist

Kent Bugatsch is a Senior Associate and Director of Custom Residential at Hobin Architecture, where he leads the firm’s wood-frame division. With a career of nearly 30-years, rooted in technical excellence and design collaboration, Kent has developed a specialization in wood-frame construction across a spectrum of residential typologies—from finely crafted custom homes and renovations to mid-density urban communities like Greystone Village and numerous projects by Uniform Urban Developments.

Kent’s work is frequently recognized for design excellence, noted for its innovative materiality and refined detailing. He works closely with Hobin’s senior design leadership—including Barry Hobin, Rheal Labelle, Todd Duckworth, and Patrick Bisson—contributing to the firm’s continued leadership in Ottawa’s low-rise residential architecture sector. He has delivered successful projects across the province as well as nationally, for discerning clients who choose Hobin Architecture despite the firm’s distance from their location.

Kent is highly proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp, and brings a detailed understanding of Part 9 of the Ontario Building Code, as well as the regional bylaws and approvals frameworks that shape both rural and urban infill development. His collaborative approach and technical leadership make him a trusted partner to contractors, developers, and design consultants alike.
