Doug Van Den Ham is an Intern Architect and Associate at Hobin Architecture with over 20 years of experience shaping communities through thoughtful planning and design. A graduate of Carleton University’s Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism, Doug has played a key role in concept development, public consultation, and municipal approvals for a wide range of projects, including master planning, infill housing, mixed-use developments, and high-density residential communities.

Doug’s expertise extends beyond design—he is deeply familiar with Ottawa’s planning tools, zoning by-laws, and urban design guidelines, and has successfully navigated complex approvals processes. His collaborative approach has fostered strong relationships with developers, consultants, municipal staff, and community stakeholders, ensuring projects reflect both client goals and community values.
