Our talented team is always growing and evolving as we mentor new employees, but the values we’ve built together will continue on with the next generation of leaders.
As we continue to celebrate our 40th #METAMORP40SIS anniversary, we want to celebrate and congratulate six Hobin Architecture team members who were promoted to new positions within the organization over the past two years.
Marc Thivierge, OAA, MRAIC,
Director
A graduate of Carleton’s School of Architecture, Marc joined Hobin Architecture in 1996 and has been instrumental in the firm’s growth and success to date. Marc has headed up a number of the firm’s largest residential and mixed-use projects including four new buildings at Greystone Village which, once constructed, will be home to over 400 families. Marc was also Project Architect for MHI’s (Multifaith Housing Initiative) “The Haven,” a non-profit community in Barrhaven targeting LEED Gold. Both projects have received awards in recognition of their innovative design and urban planning approach.
Reinhard Vogel, Senior Technologist,
Director
Reinhard graduated from Algonquin College in 1997 and joined the Hobin team later that same year. Aside from managing the construction stage of a long list of commercial and institutional projects, Reinhard is very active within the firm’s social culture and has contributed to the service-oriented approach for which the firm has become renowned. Reinhard was the project manager for OakWood’s decadent new design centre and showroom in Orleans, W. O. Stinson & Son’s new Bank Street headquarters, and a number of school additions and renovations in and around the Ottawa area.
Dan Henhoeffer, Senior Technologist,
Associate
Dan came aboard Hobin Architecture in 2014, bringing with him over twenty years’ experience in project management, contract administration and construction drawings. His role within the firm’s management includes leading the charge to the BIM (Building Information Model) documentation approach. Over the past five years, Dan has delivered a number of complex projects through the BIM platform, including the LEED Gold Innovation Centre at Bayview Yards, the new Clubhouse at eQuinelle, and a major addition to the Chinese Alliance Church.
Melanie Lamontagne, OAA, MRAIC,
Associate
Melanie joined the firm in 2008 and has taken a leadership role on a number of institutional projects in and around the Ottawa area. Melanie is noted for her experience designing for different age groups, from schools and daycares to retirement and long-term care. Notable projects include Amica in The Glebe – a mixed-use redevelopment introducing 162 retirement dwellings above a retail ground floor, as well as Valour School – a K-12 school for 1,460 students in Petawawa.
Rheal Labelle, Intern Architect,
Associate
Rheal joined the firm in 2008 and has been a central figure in the firm’s developing design brand. Rheal has been involved with the design of projects large and small, from custom homes to large-scale urban redevelopments and city building projects. Rheal is currently lead designer for Shopify COO Harley Finkelstein’s custom home in Rockcliffe Park, as well as Uniform’s prestigious ECHO condominium, whose design strives to blur the line between building and landscape.
Patrick Bisson, OAA, MRAIC,
Associate
Patrick joined the firm in 2010 and has since been involved with a number of significant projects in the not-for-profit sector for clients such as the Salvation Army, The Bridge Church and CCOC. He is also deeply involved with major mixed-use developments such as Zibi and Gloucester Frontier. Patrick is currently part of the design team behind Hobin Architecture’s own office renovation, which is slated for completion before the end of the year.
