On Monday December 7, the OAA unveiled nine projects selected as 2020 Queen’s Park Picks. For the fifth year running, Members of Provincial Parliament were invited to reflect on the province’s unique architectural legacy by nominating a favourite building within their riding. A diverse set of nominations came in, spanning the province from the Detroit River to James Bay, challenging the Association’s Policy Advocacy Coordination Team (PACT) to come up with the final selections.
The traditional in-person event held at Queen’s Park was replaced with a fully virtual experience this year, and members are encouraged to visit a new section of the OAA site where each QP Pick has been profiled. The OAA thanks all the Ministers and MPPs who participated in this year’s event.
Joel Harden, MPP for Ottawa Centre, nominated Hobin Architecture’s Beaver Barracks Redevelopment project for Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corp. as one of only nine projects across the province to receive this recognition.
